‘NO MONEY!’ Trump FURIOUSLY rejects claims US paid North Korea for dying hostage

President Trump has sensationally denied claims by North Korea the US was sent the eye-watering bill for Mr Warmbier’s care before he was released back to Washington in a vegetative state. He died days after his release. resident Trump said on Twitter: “No money was paid to North Korea for Otto Warmbier, not two Million Dollars, not anything else.

“This is not the Obama Administration that paid 1.8 Billion Dollars for four hostages, or gave five terroist [sic] hostages plus, who soon went back to battle, for traitor Sgt. Bergdahl!”

The claim was first brought about by the Washington Post, which reported Kim Jong-un forced the US envoy sent to collect the 21-year-old to sign a pledge to foot the bill for his palliative care, thus allowing him to be freed.

Sources confirmed the bill and the total amount to Fox News yesterday.

The sources also told the publication the pledge was signed by order of President Trump in 2017.

The White House declined to comment when asked on the bill.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement: “We do not comment on hostage negotiations, which is why they have been so successful during this administration.”

Mr Trump, however, had more to say on Twitter about the claim.

He said: “‘President Donald J. Trump is the greatest hostage negotiator that I know of in the history of the United States. 20 hostages, many in impossible circumstances, have been released in last two years. No money was paid.’ Cheif [sic] Hostage Negotiator, USA!”

Fred and Cindy Warmbier sued North Korea over their son’s death.

In December the couple were awarded £387million ($501million) in damages, but are yet to see the money.

The lawsuit states: “North Korea’s conduct was wilful, outrageous, extreme and dangerous to human life, and violates applicable criminal law and all international standards of civilised human conduct and common decency.”

Mr Warmbier had been imprisoned by the secretive state, which accused him of trying to steal a poster.

He had been subsequently sentenced to 15 years hard labour.

Pyongyang, which denies torturing him, claimed he had fallen into a coma as a result of contracting botulism – but parents Cynthia and Fred do not believe this is what happened.
