Melania Trump receives AWKWARD birthday tweet from White House – ‘How WEIRD!’

The First Lady of the United States turned 49 on Friday and was inundated with messages of congratulations. But a bizarre message sent out by the White House’s Twitter page sent social media users into a frenzy. The message said “Happy Birthday” accompanied by a picture of a lonely Melania sat on a sofa with more than 20 photographers and reporters frantically taking her picture and scribbling in notepads.

Shocked Twitter users mocked the tweet with one even describing it as “one of the saddest” tributes they had seen.

One wrote: “What a lovely image of Melania with her faithful companion, an empty couch cushion.”

Another said: “The person responsible for choosing images for this official account needs to find a new line of work.

“Unless, of course, they’re working to make the White House look foolish.”

A third added: “Honestly one of the saddest birthday ‘tributes’ I’ve ever seen.

“No pictures laughing with her son?

“Spontaneously hugging her husband?

“Even just genuinely smiling?”

Donald Trump, the US President, is yet to send a public birthday message to his wife but did send an email out on Thursday asking for people to sign her birthday card.

He said: “Our FANTASTIC First Lady Melania’s birthday is right around the corner, and I want to do something special for her because she is so special to me.

“We all know that Melania is an INCREDIBLE wife, mother, and First Lady. Help me show her how much the American people love her!”

Melania and Trump will celebrate the milestone tonight by meeting the Japanese Prime Minister for a private dinner.
