The Cruising With Jane McDonald favourite, 56, married Henrik Brixen in 1998 after meeting him on board while filming The Cruise for the BBC. However, the couple called time on their relationship four years later. Opening up about the end of their marriage in a frank interview with The Mirror last year, Jane McDonald revealed the reason Henrik walked away from their marriage. “Henrik tried his very, very best and he was brilliant at what he did but he didn’t know the industry,” she explained.
“We’d come to a point where Henrik had made quite a few enemies and he said, ‘If I don’t leave, you are never going to have a career.’
“And this is why I never talk about Henrik in a bad light at all because he was the one that walked out of the marriage to save my career,” Jane continued.
“The split up from Henrik was not my decision,” the signer recalled, adding: “I took two years off and it was hard.
“I didn’t just lose my husband, I lost my manager.
“Work is my saviour,” the former Loose Women star told the publication. “You need to go out there and pay bills and that’s what got me back.”
Jane has since found love with former The Searchers star Eddie Rothe.
Having first met as teenagers but grown apart, the pair got together in 2008.
She told the publication she was “bereft” after the break-up of her marriage to Henrik, saying: “I didn’t date anyone seriously for seven years and could hardly expect anything with my track record. But this guy takes my breath away.”
She called herself “very lucky”, adding: “My life has been a lot of being in the right place at the right time, so being back with Eddie has something of destiny about it.
“We both realise we are lucky to have found each other again.”
Jane praised Eddie for making her laugh and cheekily said he had also “kept his good looks”.

The Channel 5 series won the Features BAFTA gong last year.
She and Eddie put on a glamorous display at the star-studded ceremony, with the singer looking sensational in a glittering bronze sequinned gown.
The floor-length number showcased her curves and she completed the look with smokey eye make-up, wearing her chocolate tresses in carefully coiffed curls.
Eddie, meanwhile, looked dapper in a black tuxedo and bow-tie.
