Chambers on Netflix: Uma Thurman reveals REAL reason she joined horror show

Chambers has brought an entirely new style of horror to Netflix this week.

While Sasha (played by Sivan Alyra Rose) recently received a brand new heart following a heart attack, the mother of her donor, Nancy Lefevre (Uma Thurman) makes things a little more confusing.

Nancy dives into Sasha’s life after finding out she took her daughter’s heart, however she struggles to recognise the boundaries laid down by Sasha.

Uma’s role in the show is understated, but distinct – and she recently spoke about her choice to take the role.

Speaking to TVSW she explained: “I’ve always made diverse choices as an actress and tried to explore all genres.”

And although Uma has starred in an eclectic collection of films in her time, Chambers offered something different for her, she continued.

She went on to explain Chambers was appealing for her because of the amount of women involved in the project.

Uma continued: “I haven’t had that privilege very often in my life.

“I’ve worked wonderfully well with many men but it’s important to see women given opportunities to show how brilliant they can be.”

This goes all the way to the top, as well, as writer, Leah Rachel also spoke to the publication about the show.

Gushing about her new project, she detailed the plot saying: “The series starts out as a grounded human story, but pivots into something strange and messed up.

“It’s a psychological horror story that explores the different ways we deal with trauma.”

And Chambers’ setting is a huge part of how the show progresses.

Set in New Mexico, Chambers offers views of incredible vistas and unbeatable visuals.

And this is down to its location – as revealed by Film Office Director Nick Maniatis.

He recently said: “New Mexico’s dedication to creating a film-friendly environment is paying off.

“We are proud to welcome a team with such a successful track record of past productions.

“Our infrastructure, robust workforce and powerful incentives have catalysed New Mexico’s film industry growth and development.”

A second season has not yet been approved for Chambers.

Chambers is available on Netflix now.
