PS Plus game sale reveal ahead of May 2019 PS4 Store update

While the Spring Sale continues in the UK, gamers in North America can check out another PS Plus sales discount event.

The big news this month will, of course, be whatever new free PS4 games are announced for May 2019.

However, until then, gamers can browse a massive list of titles, all of which boast price drops.

The new PS Plus Specials sale includes an interesting mix of games, with the likes of FIFA 19 discounted alongside A Way Out and Battlefield Hardline.

And the good news is that all of these deals look set to stick around until the end of April.

The official listing does confirm a few drawbacks to the PS Plus Specials deal, which will be evident to those who have enjoyed them in the past.

PlayStation Plus subscribers are the only PS4 gamers who qualify for the price drops, unlike the Spring Sale in the UK, which is open to everyone.

These new deals will be available until April 30, at which time they will disappear in a PlayStation Store refresh.

Over in the UK, the PlayStation Spring Sale is still ongoing and includes its own lineup of PS4 titles.

Games like Fortnite Save the World and Fallout 76 are now included, following a recent refresh of the deals lineup.

There are also a number of games that boast PS Plus discounts and stack on top of the existing Spring deals, meaning you can buy them at a further reduced price.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is included in this list of PS Plus discounts, as is Horizon Zero Dawn – the complete Edition.

As mentioned above, all of these deals will be available to buy before the PS Plus May 2019 titles are launched.

And it looks both sales will have finished by the time the new titles are available to download.

Because of the way the days fall, the PlayStation Plus games for next month won’t be announced until May 1.

And this also means that they won’t be available to download until a week later, on May 7. On the plus side, it gives subscribers extra time to download the free PS4 games for April 2019.

This includes The Surge and Conan Exiles, with the survival title from Funcom reportedly getting a big player boost from the recent launch on PS Plus.

Developers Funcom revealed as much on Reddit, telling fans: “Since the free weekend on Steam and the current PS4 Offer with Conan Exiles being free for PS Plus users for the whole month, we had a HUGE influx of new players.

“Thank you so much for joining us on this journey and thank you for letting your friends be a part of this experience as well. Reddit, the forums and other channels have been exploding with experience recaps and first impression topics, screenshots and questions.”

Meanwhile, there have been no leaks or hints released by Sony regarding what might be included in May’s PlayStation Plus lineup.

But fans will be hoping that the tech giant can continue offering top PS4 titles as part of its monthly PlayStation Plus offering.

So far, Sony has released Steep, Portal Knights, For Honor, Hitman: The Complete First Season, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, The Witness, Conan Exiles and The Surge.
