James Bond 25 villain: Is Rami Malek playing Christoph Waltz’s Blofeld with a NEW face?

The first big James Bond 25 announcement took place at Ian Fleming’s Goldeneye in Jamaica today. Bohemian Rhapsody’s Rami Malek was confirmed as the film’s villain, with Craig saying he was scared of what’s to come from his co-star. However, some fans had been hoping for the return of Christoph Waltz’s Blofeld alongside the already confirmed Lea Seydoux’s Madeleine Swann. After all, Bond’s nemesis was last seen on Westminster bridge at the conclusion of Spectre, before being arrest by M alive.

During the Bond 25 Live Reveal on YouTube, a number of fans lamented Blofeld not being included.

One said: “We want Christoph!!!”

While another added: ‘We want Blofeld back!”

But what if Malek is actually the same villain, but with a brand new face?

WILL JAMES BOND DIE IN BOND 25?

This certainly wouldn’t be the first time the Bond franchise has made this move.

During the Sean Connery and George Lazenby eras, Blofeld was played by a number of different actors from Donald Pleasence to Telly Savalas.

His ever-changing appearance matched Fleming’s portrayal of a chief villain who will do whatever he can to protect his anonymity, by use of plastic surgery.

He had black hair in From Russia With Love, was bald with a facial scar in You Only Twice, before losing the wound in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and growing silver hair for Diamonds Are Forever.

Meanwhile, Die Another Day saw North Korean Bond villain Colonel Moon have plastic surgery to become white British entrepreneur Gustav Graves.

Now, the last time we saw Blofeld in Spectre he had his iconic scar, which had blinded him in one eye.

And Malek’s villain is rumoured to be blind. What if Blofeld escapes prison and has plastic surgery to look like Malek?

Bond 25 is released in UK cinemas on April 3, 2020.
