Fortnite MAP CHANGES – Titled Towers AND Retail Row getting destroyed ahead of season 9?

Fortnite fans could see Tilted Towers finally get destroyed alongside Retail Row in the run-up to season 9 of the Battle Pass. It has long been rumoured that Tilted Towers could be getting destroyed with this rumour always cropping up in the run-up to a new Fortnite season. Ever since season 3 of Fortnite fans have been expecting Tilted Towers to get destroyed, first by the meteor and then by other events ever since. But despite one building in Tilted Towers having some very bad luck and regularly getting levelled, the popular Fortnite POI has remained.

However this could be about to change once and for all with latest rumours giving some compelling proof that Tilted Towers could be getting destroyed.

Dataminers have discovered files in the recently released patch 8.50 which show destroyed buildings in Titled Towers.

It ties into speculation that the ongoing rune event could see the current Fortnite map destroyed and replace with a brand new one.

Popular leaked FortTory has discovered assets which show Titled Towers and Retail Row severely damaged – possibly beyond repair.

In one tweet FortTory posted: “New POI..City?! TILTED GONE?”

While in another the Fortnite leaker added: “Goodbye Retail Row”.

It’s rumoured that the ongoing Fortnite Loot Lake rune event will see the volcano erupt once all five runes are activated.

Could it be that this eruption leaves the current Fortnite map severely damaged with Retail Row and Tilted Towers destroyed?

If that’s the case then maybe the hatch that has appeared at Loot Lake is a place for players to hide for safety once the volcano erupts.

Epic Games has long been rumoured to be working on a brand new map to replace the existing one which has been tweaked bit by bit as the seasons went by.

In the Fortnite FAQ page Epic Games revealed they do have other Fortnite maps in the works.

Answering the question “will you add more maps” the Fortnite makers said: “Yes, but not right away.

“Currently, we’ll continue making improvements to our existing map, including adding more points of interest.”

This answer has appeared on the Fortnite FAQ page for most of 2018 and all of 2019 so far.

Maybe the time has finally come for one of these new maps to get added once Fortnite season 9 rolls around?
