Chris Evans: Virgin Radio host reveals REAL reason he and his wife sleep in separate rooms

Chris Evans has revealed it was his wife’s idea for them to have their own bedrooms after they welcomed twins, Boo and Walt, last year. Speaking on his Virgin Radio Breakfast Show, the 53-year-old praised Natasha Shishmanian for coming up with the “genius” plan. Also, the TV personality gushed about his spouse of 12 years, insisting she could “run the world in her sleep”. He said: “My wife sleeps on a different floor in a different bedroom with the twins. This is all her genius plan.

“Because she says there’s no point us both being dog tired cause we’ll end up, you know, biting each other’s head off every minute of every day.”

“It works perfectly,” the father-of-five declared. “She’s so good, you know my wife is so clever.”

Continuing to sing his other half’s praises, he added: “She could run the world quite easily in her sleep.

“Well at least better than most people who are paid to do that.”

The DJ had previously opened up about his unusual living arrangement with his 38-year-old wife on the show back in February.

He explained it was due to his spouse caring for their two youngest children, however, he insisted it was only temporary.

At the time, he shared: “I have a separate bathroom to my wife on a separate floor now because she’s with the twins upstairs and I’m downstairs.

“That will all change soon, but right now that’s where we are and so I have my own toothpaste, she has her own toothpaste.”

Following through with the topic of household items, the presenter added: “Of course, she buys all the toothpaste in our house because she does all that.

“I’m not allowed to do anything like that at all.”

He added: “So I went upstairs and said, ‘May I please have a new tube of toothpaste.”

“‘What have you done with your other one?’ [she said] I’m 52, I pay the mortgage, ’What have you done with your other one’.”

The TV star continued: “’I haven’t done anything with it’. She said, ‘You’re always losing your toothpaste’.

“I said, ‘Hang on how can I loose toothpaste?’”

Chris and Natasha tied the knot in 2007 and shared four children together; he also has an older daughter from a previous relationship.

Chris Evans’ Breakfast Show airs weekdays at 6.30am on Virgin Radio.
