Riverdale returns this evening and will showcase a number of changes that are sure to shock the community.
And, roducer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has hinted it could be an emotional episode not just for the characters but for viewers too.
The CW’s showrunner shared an image of Josie McCoy (played by Ashleigh Murray) on Twitter and it looks like she could be leaving Riverdale for good.
Roberto also shared a snap of Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) in the music room with Josie and the teen looks devastated.
Adding fuel to the fire of an unexpected deprature, Roberto hinted they may be saying goodbye this episode.
He captioned the image on Twitter: “A lot of hello’s and goodbye’s in this week’s crazy, heartbreaking #Riverdale…”
Meanwhile, the producer also posted an image of Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) and Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan).
The duo recently ventured to the farm with Edgar Evernever (Chad Michael Murray), and Roberto has hinted at more scenes with them, as he wrote: “On tonight’s #Riverdale, the one shall become many, and the many one…”
He continued: “Can #Choni find true happiness at the Farm?” alongside an image of the couple smiling.
Finally, fans may finally see the return of Archie and Veronica Lodge’s (Camila Mendes) relationship in a third image.
The caption reads: “Is that Archie, dripping wet, having run to Veronica’s through the rain? On tonight’s #Riverdale? Why, yes…”
Archie can indeed be seen confronting Veronica soaking wet – but can he reunite their fraught relationship after such a long time apart?
Or has he arrived at Veronica’s penthouse to reveal the news that his father, Fred, has tragically passed away?
Previously this week Roberto detailed the final scenes of Luke in a collection of tweets.
Fans were utterly devastated earlier this year when Luke Perry suffered a stroke and later died.
The Fred Andrews actor left a huge gap in the show’s cast, and fans of the show have been wondering Roberto will tackle the sudden loss of Fred.
Roberto posted a never-before-seen image of the actor playing Fred Andrews in his final scenes.
He captioned the image: “This week’s #Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed.
“As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie.
“A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever…”
Fans will see Luke’s final scenes this evening, however it is not yet known how Fred will be written out of the show.
Riverdale season three continues tonight on The CW in the US, and tomorrow on Netflix in the UK.
