Days Gone REVIEW scores: Critics to have their say on next major PS4 exclusive

Days Gone’s PS4 release date is almost here, but the reviews are still yet to go live.

Days Gone has an April 26 release date, exclusively for PlayStation 4.

Unfortunately, however, the Days Gone review embargo doesn’t lift until 1pm UK time on April 25.

This means we won’t find out the review scores until the day before the game launches on PS4.

It doesn’t give customers much chance to cancel pre-orders if the game isn’t up to scratch, although Sony’s track record this console generation suggests this won’t be an issue.

During the current console generation, Sony’s March and April exclusives have all been of a high standard.

Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War have all launched to critical acclaim around this time of year.

Days Gone made its first appearance during Sony’s 2016 E3 press conference.

An open-world action-adventure game, Days Gone puts players in the shoes of a drifter and bounty hunter named Deacon St. John.

Players will face off against zombie hordes and human enemies in the Pacific Northwest.

As seen in the original demo from E3, Deacon will occasionally have to overcome insurmountable odds to survive zombie hordes numbering in the hundreds.

The game features a day and night cycle, plus dynamic weather, which can potentially alter each encounter.

“Ride into a desperate dog-eat-dog world ravaged by a deadly pandemic as drifter and bounty hunter, Deacon St. John,” reads a Sony post.

“Risk the threats of the broken road on the back of your trusty drifter bike as you face swarms of mindless feral Freakers – and equally terrifying humans.

“Unpredictable weather and different times of day and night can cause incredible danger and shocking surprises… and everything wants you dead.”
