The Walking Dead season 10 spoilers: 'I was scared' Ezekiel star hints at HUGE death

The Walking Dead viewers were utterly elated by the lack of huge deaths in the final episode of season nine.

While many tough situations were met by the residents of Alexandria and the Kingdom, only a few members of the community were killed off.

Although the final episode of season nine saw the end of Ezekiel’s (played by Khary Payton) relationship with Carol (Melissa McBride), he ultimately survived the show.

But that may not last for long, as Ezekiel star Khary recently spoke at Walker Stalker Con in Chicago about his character’s fate.

First, he explained how worried he was for his character’s life when the pike scene was on its way.

He began: “I was scared out of my mind. I had my bags packed, man, I was ready to go.

“I was like, ‘I’m gone, it’s okay, I know, no problem, I’ll be fine, these dreadlocks blowing in the breeze.’”

However his death was not destined to be showcased on in season nine, leaving the actor still very much in his job.

But he did go on to add: “But apparently the dreadlocks were too heavy to actually blow in the breeze.

“And so that’s why they’re like: ‘We’re gonna kill him a different way!’”

Ezekiel has been around since the beginning of season seven, but could Khary have now teased the beginning of his character’s end?

If so, Carol will certainly not be happy about his death – and if he will be killed by the Whisperers, she may look to enact some revenge.

Meanwhile Carl Grimes actor Chandler Riggs also spoke out at the convention on the pike scene.

And he was a little shocked by how everything went, as he explained: “I think it paid really good homage to the comics because that scene in the comics was just really, really shocking and really heart-wrenching, and I feel like it was accurately portrayed in the show.”

On the death of his former on-screen girlfriend Enid (Katelyn Nacon), he explained it would have been incredibly hard for Carl to handle.

He continued: “Oh man, that definitely would have been really, really tough for him.

“Especially just because Enid, their storylines were so intertwined, and they both kind of came from the world. Not from Alexandria, from the world.

“And they both met each other at very vulnerable parts of their lives, and they meant a lot to each other.

“So I think if Carl saw her head on a pike, it would be definitely devastating for him.”

The Walking Dead season 10 returns to AMC in October 2019.
