The shocking video shows the fluffy bunny involved in a heated bust-up with a man in downtown Orlando, on Easter Sunday. It is understood the vicious alteration took place after a man was spotted allegedly assaulting a female security guard. Antonie McDonald, who out in the costume during drinks with his girlfriend and cousin, noticed the alleged attacker spit on the woman and then leaped to her defence.
He told US news outlet TMZ: “I saw him spit on her and I saw a fight breaking out, I just ran over there, I didn’t have time to ask anyone like, ‘yo unzip me from the suit’.
“I didn’t even check for cars, I just ran across the street. At first I was just trying to break it up, but then my attempt to break it up lead to the aggressor getting on top of her.
“So then, I don’t know if I got a little upset, but I had to start punching him to him off of her.”
Such was his natural instincts to help the woman, he forgot he was even wearing the outfit.
Orlando Police were shocked when they attended the incident, and Mr McDonald claims the force saw the lighter side of the altercation.
He said: “Honestly I didn’t know I was wearing the suit until afterwards, I was just ready to go. I’m pretty sure the cop was a little confused, like he didn’t know how to fill out the paperwork.
“His words to me were, ‘if I catch you in that suit fighting again I’m going to arrest you and that damn bunny’.”
Josh Manes, a night manager at a local bar, who witnessed the fight said he was “at a loss for words” when he saw the incident outside SAK Comedy Lab.
He told NBC News: “I guess that’s how Sundays, fun days go around here in Orlando. I can’t be too surprised.
“The cops broke them up, they shook the hand of the guy in the bunny suit and let him go.
“He was just partying, enjoying his Easter Sunday.”
The Orlando Police Department said on Monday that no one was arrested in connection with the incident.
