Avengers 4 Endgame end credit scene: Is there a post credit scene or not? CONFIRMED

Marvel movies created the modern phenomenon of mid and post credits scenes. Sometimes just a bit silly, sometimes loaded with major clues for what was to come, they are an integral part of the MCU. Joe and Anthony Russo revealed last year they had not wanted any after credits scenes for Infinity War but bowed to pressure. The recent LA screening of Avengers 4 cut to black as soon as the movie ended, leaving a huge mystery over whether there will an extra scen to set up what comes next in the new Marvel Phase Four.

So, should fans stay in their seats to the very end or not?

Fans had previously believed that Endgame marked the official end of Phase Three. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, however, has just created major confusion by saying that Spider-Man Far From Home will be the final film in the first three phases, which began with Iron Man back in 2008. Fans already know Spider-Man is coming back to life, so there is no need to provide any after credit links into the next MCU movie.

At last night’s official UK press screening we sat to the very end of the credits and there are NO extra scenes. But there is a hugely moving and spine-tingling final moment.

AVENGERS ENDGAME OFFICIAL REVIEW – SPOILER FREE

As the credits end and the Marvel logo appears on the screen, the tolling of a bell can be heard.

This is clearly an emotional and powerful reminder of how many heroes have been lost.

Yes, the aim of the movie is to reverse the Snap, and yes fans already knw which MCU characters already have future projects in the pipeline. However, some major lives are lost in Endgame.

However, at the moment Thanos demands our silence.

The movies starts to roll out across much of Europe, Australasia, Asia and Souh America tomorrow, followed by the UK on Thursday. The big revelations will come then, but there are no extra teases, treats or traumas once the main film ends.

Then again, fans can use the time to pull themselves together after the rollercoaster of the previous three hours…
