Lucy Alexander: Homes Under The Hammer star has wardrobe mishap 'What an excuse!'

Lucy Alexander, 48, co-hosted Homes Under The Hammer for 13 years between 2003 and 2016 but she was back on TV in a re-run episode today.

In the Easter Monday instalment, the presenter was in Upstreet, a village near Canterbury, exploring a house.

Walking outside the property, Lucy explained it comes with a nice garden, but wasn’t able to show viewers herself.

“I’m told theres a very nice garden out here with a spectacular view at the end,” she began.

“I would…” she said, before walking off the grass and added: “But no, I’m not going to.”

Lucy went on: “It’s a bit of a jungle and I’m not wearing the right footwear!”

Showing off her wedge heels, Lucy headed back inside the house.

Martin Roberts, who was doing the voiceover, teased Lucy over her fashion fail and said: “The wrong shoes! What an excuse, Lucy!”

Meanwhile, Lucy recently admitted she “misses” presenting on Homes Under The Hammer as she loved being nosy in people’s properties.

“I miss presenting Homes Under The Hammer because I got to look around so many different properties,” she told The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine.

Lucy continued: “Occasionally I catch myself watching a re-run on TV, and I can tell how old the show is by how dated my clothes are.”

Talking about working in TV, Lucy claimed she’s not very good at “remembering” her lines and prefers to be spontaneous.

She spilled: “I’m not good at remembering my lines.

“Usually I make things up as I go. I think a bit of spontaneity on camera is essential.”

Lucy has had a successful career in TV but there is still one thing she hasn’t yet ticked off her list – Strictly Come Dancing.

The host recently told Express.co.uk she is a huge fan of the programme and said it would be a dream come true to compete.

Speaking about her time visiting the Strictly Come Dancing studios with 2017 contestant, Ruth Langsford, last year, Lucy divulged: “That was the highlight of my life.

“That is what I want to do more than anything!”

She went on: “It’s everything about me that I love. I love dance, I love performance and I love choreography.”

Homes Under The Hammer airs weekdays on BBC One at 10am.
