Laura Hamilton, 36, is an English TV presenter who is widely known for working on A Place in the Sun. As well as her property expertise on the screen, the star has turned heads in recent years by going through a weight loss transformation of her own. Eating less and moving more is often the key for losing weight although some people struggle with fitting this into their busy work and family life. The presenter told Express.co.uk about her weight loss journey and what she does to stay trim.
The TV star first struggled with her weight after the birth of her children, Rocco, five, and Tahlia, three.
After her daughter was born in May 2015, she was inspired to shed her pregnancy weight after reading comments about her figure online.
The star used exercise to help her lose nearly 5st and went on to launch her fitness app, ‘Laura Hamilton’s Total Body Workout’ in 2016.
Along with making healthier choices with her food, Laura explained the importance of exercise for weight loss and shared her tips of how this can help others.
Laura said: “It’s so hard trying to balance it all as a working mum and I find if I book regular classes or gym sessions in, I find I stick to it just as I would a work appointment.”
She revealed a good fitness tool for people who are travelling and said a resistance band can be used anywhere.
Laura said: “It is also good to invest in some resistance bands. They are lightweight and very compact and can fit in your hand bag and taken anywhere.
“You can do a variety of effective exercises with these bands whether you are in the gym, at home, or in a hotel.”
For those who are not able to get to a gym, there are ways to fix exercise into a busy schedule in order to slim down.
“If you don’t have access to a gym you can find some great workout ideas online,” she continued.
“A thirty minute workout at home when the children are in bed is something I might do if I haven’t managed to work out during the day.”
The star explained how to fit exercise into the routine of those who are too busy or can’t access a gym or scheduled classes, and said she has had to work on this since becoming a mum.
Laura said: “My kids, Rocco and Tahlia, love tennis and swimming so it’s great when you can exercise a bit together, and have fun!
“Also consider buying a Fitbit or some kind of watch that tracks how many steps you do each day.
“I think you’ll be surprised to see that as a mum you are running around all the time and you are probably exercising more than you realise!”
Another TV star who has been through a weight loss transformation is broadcaster Anne Diamond, 64.
Over the years she has spoken openly about her battle with her weight.
After losing weight, some slimmers also like to share their transformation online to encourage others.
Reddit user “missmeleni“ wrote in a post about how she lost 4st and five dress sizes by watching her calorie intake and exercising.
