New iPhone 11 could boast a huge improvement over the iPhone Xs

New iPhone 11 is not expected to be announced by Apple until later this year with the tech giant typically unveiling its new batch of smartphones in September.

Although the debut of Apple’s next iPhone is still expectedly months away, that has not stopped a legion of rumours emerging about the device.

One of the most prominent pieces of speculation surrounding the presumably titled iPhone 11 is with regard to its camera system.

In particular, Digit.in, collaborating with OnLeaks, has claimed Apple’s next flagship device will come with three lenses on its rear as opposed to the two present on the iPhone Xs and Xs Max.

Alleged renders of the camera system showed it looking similar, but not exactly the same, as the Huawei Mate 20 Pro thanks to its square housing.

Although it is unclear what the function of the third lens could be, both Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal have both insisted at least one model of Apple’s next iPhone range will tout three cameras.

While it seems Apple could improve the rear camera systems of its next premium smartphone, it appears the Cupertino-based firm may also upgrade the selfie snappers on its next devices, too.

Notable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, from TF International Securities, was said to have made the claim in a new research note that was obtained by MacRumors.

Kuo was quoted as saying the next batch of iPhones will come with a 12-megapixel selfie sensor as opposed to the 7-megapixel camera on the front of the iPhone Xs, Xs Max and XR.

As noted by The Verge, it was emphasised the size of the pixels on the new selfie cameras would not change.

If accurate, this could help Apple’s new devices take even better photos overall.

The rear-facing cameras on the next set of iPhones was also discussed by Kuo.

He stated Apple is planning to upgrade all three models of its current range, meaning a successor to the iPhone Xs, Xs Max and XR could be coming later this year.

Moreover, he stated the presumably titled iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max could boast three cameras while the next iPhone XR will tout a dual system.

In particular, it was noted Apple’s triple-camera array will come with an ultra wide-angle sensor that could allow for incredibly unique shots to be taken.

It was claimed the new module will be 12-megapixels.

It is assumed the successor to the iPhone XR will come with a standard and telephoto sensor as a wide-angle lens for this device was not mentioned.

Finally, the analyst stated the ultra wide-angle and selfie camera on the next batch of iPhones will be covered by “black lens-coating technologies” that will make the lenses look “inconspicuous”.

Samsung already employs similar technology in some of its flagships to make selfie sensors less noticeable within a device’s bezel.

While Kuo was eager to provide details about the photography equipment in store for Apple’s forthcoming iPhones, it is worth noting nothing about such devices has been officially confirmed.
