Jenny Ryan: ‘No’ The Chase star fires back at comment from ‘bored’ viewer on Twitter

Jenny Ryan, 37, took to Twitter yesterday to silence a fan who appeared to criticise her TV wardrobe. The British quizzer made the statement in view of her 45,000 followers after a viewer asked her to change her outfit in time for the next episode of The Chase. The original tweet read: ”@jenlion any chance you can change your outfit before the next episode? Same goes to all of you. #TheChase #newclobber #bored.” Jenny was quick to fire back a simple, but powerful response, as she shared the message and replied: “No.”

The TV personality’s followers then proceeded to flock to the comments section to support her witty retort.

One admirer wrote: “Crikey Jenny you don’t half get some stick on here.

“Seems some people can’t accept the success of others so try to bring them down to their own level, glad to see it’s not working and you’re able to rise above it!”

A second follower added: “Loved your reply Jenny. Short and to the f*****g point.”

Others on the other hand took the opportunity to praise Jenny on her signature look as a Chaser.

A fan exclaimed: “Why would Jen change her outfit? She looks lovely in it and all Chasers have an outfit.”

Another quipped: “It’s called being in character.”

A third responded: “Don’t let anyone change your image the lovely and adorable vixen.”

Elsewhere, Jenny revealed her sentimental side to fans last week, as she recalled a story about helping a primary school teacher get to her first date on time when faced with travel issues.

The game show favourite referred to herself as an “unwinged cupid” on Twitter as she proceeded to tell the heartwarming tale.

The dramatic moment took place when Jenny found herself delayed after filming The Chase’s celebrity special and suddenly spotted another commuter who appeared to be “quite stressed”.

After kindly offering to take the woman to Piccadilly in a taxi when her train was cancelled, the star found out that she was on the way to meet a man who she had been wanting to date “for a while”.

Jenny then went on to share details from their conversation in the cab, writing: “She tells me she’s not used to dating, she’s been focused on her studies and becoming a teacher.

“But ‘when an opportunity like this comes up, you’ve got to grab it’. She’s really nervous and keeps checking her makeup (she looks flawless, btw).”(sic.)

When the quizzer finally parted ways with the teacher, she admitted to being swept up in the romance of the occasion.

She concluded: “I leave her at Piccadilly, about to meet her beau. I asked to be mentioned in the speeches at the wedding.

“NB She had no idea who i was, she just knows my first name.”

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
