The One Show: Alex Jones SILENCES co-host Ore Oduba over Strictly Come Dancing remark

Mariella appeared on The One Show tonight to chat about the upcoming final episode of the Celebrity Painting Challenge.

Talking about the series, she noted the finalists – Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, George Shelley and Josie d’Arby – had all been on a journey.

As soon as she mentioned a “journey”, Ore remarked he too had gone on a “journey” referencing his time on Strictly Come Dancing.

But before he could go into detail, presenter Alex Jones raised her finger to silence him.

Mariella began: “All of them want to go on a bit of a, I hate the word.”

Alex and Ore both chanted: “Say it! Say it!” before Mariella gave in and said: “Journey.”

Mum-to-be Alex told her: “Ah that’s money in the swear box.”

“Sorry!” Mariella apologised as Ore went on to ask: “The journey culminates next week doesn’t it?”

“Oh twice!” the guest exclaimed. “How much money is that for the swear jar?”

Ore replied: “I’m allowed to say it. I went on a real journey a couple of years ago…”

He began to trail off as Alex raised her finger to stop him continuing to talk about his journey on Strictly.

“No, that’s it,” Ore concluded before turning conversation back to the Celebrity Painting Challenge.

“But the final is next wee and we have a spoiler clip,” he told viewers.

“This is the moment when the final three go up against the judges.”

Speaking about the upcoming clip from the final episode, Alex reflected: “They are harsh!”

Earlier this week on The One Show, guest Kevin McCloud was left unimpressed by presenter Matt Baker’s remark.

Matt said: “Well, Kevin, you’re here to talk about the new series of Grand Designs. It’s called The Street. It’s quite a bonkers concept, but fun.”

Alex added: “Yeah. It’s kind of a labour self build.”

But Kevin looked confused by the pair’s remarks and the presenters were forced to move onto the next segment.

The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One at 7pm.
