Most expensive trainers in the world revealed with one pair worth an eye-watering £20K

The top ten most expensive trainers in the world have been revealed by StockX, the world’s first ‘stock market of things’ and leading luxury resale marketplace. Taking the top spot by a considerable margin is the futuristic Nike Air MAG, immortalised by Marty McFly in the 1989 blockbuster sequel “Back to the Future II”. The iconic shoes are officially the most expensive sneakers on the planet, according to data from StockX. The light up high-tops were released as a limited run of 89 pairs in 2016 and thanks to their scarcity, are now worth an estimated £19,715.

Coming in second place are the Air Jordan Kobe PE Retro Pack Retro 8.

Two pairs of sneakers in the colours of the Los Angeles Lakers worn by Kobe Bryant during the 2002-2003 season, adding to their desirability for trainer fans.

High profile collaborations quickly increase the price of sneakers, especially when they are produced in very limited edition, as in case of the Air Jordan 4 Retro Eminem Carhartt.

Designed in collaboration with the American rapper and the brand Carhartt, the sneakers are linked to the 15th anniversary of the album “The Marshall Mathers LP”.

Just ten pairs were made for friends and family of Eminem, and their value is now estimated at £7,534.
