Mark Labbett: The Chase star teases SHOCK move in major TV debut

Mark Labbett, 53, is a quizmaster on the ITV series The Chase, but the star has reportedly been approached by television executives to appear on both popular reality shows. Both ITV and BBC bosses are attempting to woo Mark to appear on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! and Strictly Come Dancing, according to The Sun. A source reportedly told the publication, The Chase star held talks with the jungle bosses last month. The source added: “Mark’s co-star Anne Hegerty appeared in the jungle last year and was a hit. Also, Mark going a bit peckish in camp would make great TV.

“But he would also be great value on the dance floor. Luckily he doesn’t have to make a final decision until September.”

Express.co.uk have contacted Mark Labbett’s representatives for comment.

His possible reality television debut comes after it was alleged Mark’s wife, Katie Labbett, 26, had cheated on her husband, claims which her father has denied.

The Chase star and his wife tied the knot at Arundel Castle in West Sussex in 2014.

According to The Sun, it was alleged Katie had been dating another since 2017.

A source told the publication: “[He] and Katie have been seeing each other since 2017. It took a while for people to realise who she was and that she was married.”

Mark’s father-in-law was forced to deny claims Katie had been in another relationship since 2017.

He is said to have told them: “She’s not in another relationship.”

Both Mark and Katie have yet to comment on the claims, but a spokesperson for The Chase star, David Hahn told the publication: “Mark and Katie are not splitting up.

“Everything is fine between them and they have been at home together this week.”

Express.co.uk contacted a representative for Mark for comment at the time.

Meanwhile, the ITV quizmaster recently retweeted a post from his fellow co-star Paul Sinha, after fans questioned the structure of the show and hinted it favours The Chaser over the contestants.

In view of his 2,231 Twitter followers, Paul wrote: “For those that think the Final Chase structure always favours the Chaser, I answered 20 questions yesterday to their 18, and got battered 22-12.”

Fans were quick to comment, as one person said: “People just like to complain. I love your show!”

Another person commented: “I don’t actually care about the end result. The show is really entertaining, and you Paul are my fav. I have to stop cooking if your the chaser.”

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
