Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms transfer plans – 'I’m confident we’ll get them'

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set for a busy summer at Old Trafford, with many suggesting United need plenty of additions.

The club have stuttered again in recent weeks after an initial boost when Solskjaer came in as boss in December.

The Norwegian has been given the role on a permanent basis since then and already has his eyes set on the summer.

And Solskjaer has revealed that Manchester United will decide carefully before making any transfers, with being a good fit very important.

“I don’t know if all these critics know what’s happening,” Solskjaer said.

“We’ve got scouts scouring the planet for good footballers and we’ll sign players we think is the right fit – personality wise, price wise, quality wise and can you have longevity at this club and I’m confident we’ll get the players.

“I’ve been speaking to the club, we know that we have to be realistic and have a job to be done there’s no quick fix.

“It’s not like buy seven players and we’re in the right shape, we have to take step by step and there’ll be signings made but also has to be thoughts about players.

“Sit down, have a pre-season, I can’t wait for it to come.

“There’ll be some additions, the players have got to come back and know what is expected of them, take ownership of that while on holiday and it will be great to see who’s coming back.”

United have been linked to the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jadon Sancho.

There could also be a number of outgoings with Paul Pogba believed to be on Real Madrid’s radar.

Securing Champions League football may be key to Solskjaer signing any players this summer.

The Red Devils are currently sixth in the Premier League table, two points off fourth-placed Arsenal.

Solskjaer’s side head to Everton on Sunday (1.30pm) in their next game before welcoming Manchester City on Wednesday.
