Googlebox 2019: 'Where are they?' Fans in TURMOIL as stars fail to make an appearance

Giles Wood and Mary Killen from Wiltshire have become Gogglebox fan favourites on the Channel 4 show since they began appearing on the programme in 2015.

Fans of the popular show have often been left in tears of laughter due to the couple’s tiffs and their rather comical reactions to the most watched TV moments of the week.

Though they are just one of the many couples appearing on the programme, with the Malone family and the likes of best friends Jenny and Lee, also offering viewers some comical relief.

However, during this evening’s episode, viewers were left questioning where Giles and Mary were as they failed to make an appearance.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “Thought #gogglebox was kinda dull this week and have just realised Giles and Mary aren’t here. WHERE ARE THEY. THEY MAKE THE SHOW can’t lie am fuming.” (sic)

Another posted: “#GOGGLEBOX Where’s Giles and Mary tho? @C4Gogglebox.”

Whilst a third reiterated the latter comment, remarking: “#gogglebox Where are Giles and Mary.”

A fourth opined: “Missing out on Giles and Mary in tonight #Gogglebox.”

Questioning the couples whereabouts, a fifth inquired: “I miss Mary and Giles, where are Mary and Giles?? #Gogglebox.”

Express.co.uk have contacted the show, but have not yet received a reply.

However, prior to this evening’s episode, Giles and Mary’s fellow Gogglebox stars Jenny and Lee had to issue a warning to viewers as there was a false announcement the show was auditioning for new stars.

The original tweet from the Gogglebox official Twitter page read certain publications were: “Posting that we are looking for applicants for #gogglebox This is untrue.

“We have never carried out an application process for the show and have predominantly only ever street cast.

“We hugely apologise for any inconvenience #fakenews,” the post concluded.

In response to the post of the show’s official Twitter page, Jenny and Lee wrote to their 79,000 followers in a retweet of the original post: “Please be aware folks [shocked face emojis] it’s fake news, fake news.”
