Alex Jones: The One Show host issues warning to guest after blunder ‘She’ll have you!’

Alex Jones, 42, and Matt Baker, 41, was joined by the Channel 4 host Kevin McCloud, 59, to discuss his latest offering, Grand Designs: The Street. As the trio chatted about the details of the show, Kevin was issued a stark warning by the Welsh presenter after he mistakenly blurted out the wrong age of a guest on his property show. The Grand Designs star talked about the programme as he follows ten families who build their own homes, as Matt asked: “You follow ten but as far as plots are concerned you, how many are on the site?” Kevin replied: “There are ten houses, ten plots, ten homes.”

Speaking about one guest in particular, he exclaimed: “There’s Lynn who is in her late 60s,” before adding: “Sorry Lynn, no early 60s.”

The TV star seemingly appeared to get her age wrong, before Alex said: “She’ll have you Kevin.”

The Grand Design presenter continued to discuss his programme as he appeared to not ponder on the age mishap.

Meanwhile, Alex was left stunned after a recent episode where she was joined by comedian Jimmy Carr.

The 8 Out of 10 Cats star spoke about his stand-up shows and revealed many families go together to watch him, which left Alex open-mouthed.

Jimmy said: “I’ve had people come with their families to my show, which I found horribly inappropriate.”

However, the brunette host seemingly appeared shocked people would watch his comedy shows with their family due to the rude jokes.

“It’s not for everyone,” Jimmy added.

“It’s a strong flavour, my comedy, so I think it’s surprising.”

He went on: “And, you make judgements. I walk out on my show and you see someone in their seventies in the front row and think this isn’t for them.

“But then you realise, the thing which unites people is their sense of humour.”

Meanwhile, Alex is just weeks away from giving birth to her second child and will soon be heading off for on maternity leave.

The host already has two-year-old Teddy with husband Charlie Thomson.

The presenter has been open about her struggles after the couple suffered a devastating miscarriage two years ago.

Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph’s Stella magazine, Alex said: “You don’t let yourself relax. I couldn’t enjoy it for a long time and didn’t tell anyone for ages.”

The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One.
