Joey the sheep’s unique appearance, with just one central-horn, caught the attention of South Australian stock agent Michael Foster, who has since adopted the animal as his own. Such was the fascination with the sheep, Mr Foster took Joey home with him to his property and its has since become the talk of the town in Berra, South Australia. The animal loving Mr Foster told 7News in Australia: “I thought it might have been a joke to start with, but I thought, ‘yeah it looks like a unicorn’.

“I put the deal to the farmer and he said ‘don’t worry about it, just buy me a beer’, but I thought he was worth more than that, so I said ‘I’ll give you two cartons instead’.”

It is understood its distinctive appearance is due to one its horns not fully developing.

The unusual breed is thought to be the first of its kind found Down Under.

Mr Foster said: “I’ve been a stock agent for about six years and it is definitely the first time I have come across anything like it.”

He added: “To the best of our knowledge, it is the only one in Australia.”

Despite drawing all the attention, the animal lover has confirmed the Joey is fitting right into his new home.

Mr Foster added: “He runs with the other sheep, it’s just funny seeing his horn poking out.”

The stock agent also outlined his high-hopes for the animal and even joked he may even take part in shows or even become a Hollywood A-lister.

Mr Foster said: “We’ll break him in, take him to shows and pageants, and who knows where we can go, maybe Hollywood.”

He added: “I’m sure the kids will get a big kick out of patting a real-life unicorn, we might even do unicorn rides.”
