NBA news: WATCH Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson drop hint they want to leave Warriors

Both Thompson and Durant have been heavily linked with joining other franchises this summer.

With the Warriors aiming to win a third consecutive NBA title, the biggest question they will face is what can they achieve elsewhere that than can’t do in Golden State.

The Warriors duo have both made it clear that they want a max contract, and that could prove too costly for the Warriors.

The defending champions have made it clear they want to keep both players, but reports have suggested they are likely to only re-sign one of them.

But in a recent interview on 60 minutes alongside Livingston, Iguodala and Curry, there was a hint that neither player is sure they will stay in Golden State.

The presenter asked the group whether they could see themselves “play for another team after going through this”.

Iguodala responded with: “They don’t know because they’re younger but when you get older, you don’t want to play for nobody else.”

The presenter then pushed with: “It’s not going to get better than this?”

To which Iguodala laughed while saying: “If somebody else is recruiting me, look man this has got to be the template.”

Iguodala, Curry and Livingston all laughed at the remark.

But most telling was the response from both Thompson and Durant, or lack of.

The Warriors duo were expressionless, suggesting the possibility of leaving the Warriors may not be farfetched.

Durant seems the more likely to leave out of the two, according to reports throughout the season.

Thompson has indicated in the past that he wants to stay in Golden State, while Durant has remained quiet on what he plans to do.

The New York Knicks have been heavily linked with signing Durant, with Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher going as far to say that it is a “done” deal.

The Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers have also been touted as possible destinations, with Thompson also tipped to head to the Staples Center.
