Ronda Rousey MAJOR injury update after WrestleMania: What's next for WWE megastar?

Rousey became part of history as she competed in the first ever all-women’s main event match at WrestleMania against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

The UFC Hall of Famer suffered a controversial pinfall loss to new RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Lynch as the referee counted to three even though she kicked out.

During the historic bout the ex-RAW Women’s Champion broke her hand and is set for a lengthy absence from WWE.

According to Fightful, The Baddest Woman on the Planet will go under the knife on Tuesday and WWE hope to have her back either late this year or early 2020.

The Rowdy One’s return date is currently uncertain but the chances of her departing for good are very slim.

Rumours suggested that the MMA hero may leave the wrestling giants after Mania to start a family with her husband Travis Browne.

WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon addressed the speculation and told Express Sport she is confident the first ever UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion will not exit the company.

McMahon said: “I don’t know, I think you have to ask Ronda.

“But let me just say, regardless of whether Ronda goes away for a little while or not she’ll be back.

“And WWE will welcome her with open arms.”

Rousey enjoyed a stunning first year in WWE as she became RAW Women’s Champion just four months after her debut fight and remained undefeated for an entire year.

The MMA hero also defeated some of the biggest stars in the women’s division like Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss and more.

The UFC legend’s feud with Lynch made global headlines as did her main event match at WrestleMania.

Rumours suggest WWE are considering a blockbuster fight between her and The Man for next year’s WrestleMania 35.
