Jeremy Corbyn SAVAGED for ‘awful body language’ during meeting with Nancy Pelosi

The Labour leader’s body language was described as “awful” after a picture showed him and his team with their arms folded. One Twitter user said: “Corbyn’s narrow hand gestures aren’t an inclusive gesture, though folded arms are worse. However, look at the expressions on the faces of the Pelosi people. The Left Divided?” While another added: “His body language is awful.”

A further Twitter user encouraged people to “spot the difference” in the images.

Of the meeting. the Labour leader said: “Open and wide-ranging meeting with US House of Representatives Speaker Pelosi today.

“We discussed the need to protect the Good Friday Agreement, take action on inequality and the climate crisis, confront racism and promote peace.”

While Ms Pelosi said: “Pleased to have had a candid discussion with Jeremy Corbyn today about the direction of Brexit, Northern Ireland, NATO, acting boldly on climate, protecting human rights, and the necessity of forcefully confronting anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.”

One of the differences in the post is that Mr Corbyn did not mention anti-Semitism being discussed.

Ms Pelosi also met with former Labour MPs Mike Gapes, Chris Leslie and Ian Austin.

All three shared a picture of the meeting and mentioned anti-Semitism.

Ms Pelosi said: “Important discussion with former Labour Party MPs Mike Gapes, Chris Leslie, Ian Austin to hear their perspective on Brexit, why they left the Labour Party, and the importance of standing unequivocally against anti-Semitism wherever it is found.”

However, Owen Jones accused the US politician of mocking the Labour party by meeting with the MPs.

He said: “The British Labour Party is being openly trolled by a US establishment hack who won’t even defend Ilhan Omar as she is savaged by a racist President and his Muslim hating allies.”

His tweet referenced a Muslim Democratic congresswoman who is currently being criticised by right-wing US politicians.

Ms Pelosi will meet government ministers on Monday as part of her UK visit.
