There’s a very exciting month ahead for Sony Xperia fans with the Japanese technology firm expected to release its Xperia 1 in May.
This all-new phone was first revealed back in February at Mobile World Congress and it’s certainly one to watch out for.
Sony has completely revamped this flagship with a new name and plenty of extra features that haven’t been seen before of an Xperia device.
One of the most noticeable changes is the size of the device with Sony opting for a giant 6.5-inch screen which has a tall 21:9 aspect ratio.
This should make it perfect for bingeing on Netflix or watching the latest Hollywood blockbusters
As well as being perfectly formed for viewing content on the move, Sony is also boasting that its CinemaWide 4K HDR OLED display features accurate colour reproduction so you get to see things exactly as they were produced by the director.
To enhance this viewing experience even further, Sony has packed the Xperia 1 with Dolby Atmos audio which should help to bring much-improved sound to this flagship.
Spin the Xperia 1 around and you’ll find a new triple rear camera set-up which is the first time such tech has been squeezed into an Xperia phone.
The cameras are made up of a standard 12-megapixel lens which sits alongside a wider-angle and telephoto option.
Sony has also enlisted the help of its award-winning Alpha brand with tech from these pro cameras being squeezed into the smartphone.
Other features that are worth mentioning on the Xperia 1 include the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, a 3,300mAh battery and the return of Side Sense technology which allows easy access to your most popular apps.
With a price of over £800 the Xperia 1 clearly won’t be cheap but a new deal from Amazon is making one member of the Xperia family a lot more affordable.
The online retailer currently has the Xperia XZ2 Premium on sale for just £399 – which is half its original price.
As a quick reminder, the Premium comes with a 5.8-inch 4K display, dual-lens rear camera, fast Qualcomm 845 processor and a 3,540mAh battery which can be charged wirelessly.
This also includes Sony’s Dynamic Vibration System plus there’s some S-Force Front Surround Sound speakers and Hi-Res Audio compatibility.
There’s no word on how long this deal will be available for but Amazon’s Spring Sale event ends on Monday.
