Fleabag season 2 spoilers: Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s secret scene REVEALED in epic finale

Warning: Spoilers for Fleabag season two’s finale in this article.

Fleabag writer, creator and star, Phoebe Waller-Bridge incorporated a very touching tribute to the TV show’s editor, Gary Dollner, in the show’s incredible season finale.

The show concluded on Monday night, and its final scene saw Bridge’s character waiting at a bus stop.

While waiting there, many fans spotted that the name of the final destination of the bus was a direct reference to Dollner.

The destination in question was Dollner Avenue, and the editor then took to Twitter to thank Waller-Bridge for the “pleasant” surprise.

Dollar wrote: “As editor I know every frame of the cut, so imagine my (very pleasant) surprise to see this broadcast tonight. Bye Fleabag it was a privilege.”

He accompanied this tweet with an image of the bus stop display with the reference to him.

Fans then took to Twitter to praise the show’s finale and the editor’s work on it.

One wrote: “Your editing has been one of the joys of this sublime show, particularly when cutting stepmother off in midflow”.

Another added: “Thank you for your incredible work on this incredible show. Nailing the timing on such a tightly-written show is Olympics-level editing.”

A third also posted: “What a wonderful surprise! And what a perfect ending. Chapeau mate!!”

Another fan wrote: “Superb work on this series! Well done.”

“There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth in my household when they didn’t get together at the end, but it seems right to me – even if desperately sad. Is it the end?” questioned another.

It was announced that season two would be the show’s last, which came as a shock to many since it had been such a long wait in between seasons – three years to be exact.

However, Waller-Bridge was writing Killing Eve and starring in Solo: A Star Wars Story during that time, so she was rather busy.
