Avengers 4 theory: This SHOCK character will defeat Thanos – no one you imagined so far

The upcoming Avengers: Endgame has been subjected to some wild fan theories. Now a new and very detailed theory has brought to the forefront a character hardly mentioned since Avengers: Infinity War. But this theory speculates he will be both a hero and a villain in Avengers: Endgame and could be the one to destroy Thanos.

Which Avengers Endgame character will defeat Thanos?

A new fan theory predicts Arsenal, an AI robot body, will defeat Thanos in a shock twist – only to turn on the Avengers when Ultron hacks its system.

Ultron, the sentient AI created by Tony Stark during the 2015 Avengers movie, perished in the final moments of Age of Ultron.

But together with Captain Marvel’s ability to wield the Infinity Stones, Tony Stark may be able to recreate an Ultron-like AI with the power to defeat Thanos.

Given the complexities of the Marvel world, not just its cinematic universe, there are many directions in which to take this theory.

In the animated TV series Avengers: Assemble, Ultron resurrected the body of Arsenal and posed as a good guy helping the Avengers defeat Thanos.

Then Ultron takes the Infinity Stones, absorbs their power, and plans to use it for his own nefarious plot.

Though in Age of Ultron, Vision destroyed Ultron’s last remaining body, Marvel is a big fan of the unexpected twist.

But the Endgame trailers and clips have had similarities to the animated series, most notably its red and white suits.

For Marvel to take inspiration from the cartoon may not be wholly out of the realm of possibility.

If Ultron does return and take the stones, the Avengers may have to travel back in time to take the power of the stones for themselves.

This is where the red and white suits come into play, as does Ant-Man’s ability to travel through the Quantum Realm.

Working Ultron back into the plot for Avengers Endgame, while convoluted, is entirely possible.

Its probability, however, is rather low. Given what we’ve seen so far of trailers and clips, there is no proof Ultron returns.

This is perhaps one of the more complicated theories, relying on a lot of so far unproven plot points.

But Marvel is known for making even the most complicated plots accessible.

After 21 films and dozens of characters, they’ve still managed to keep the plot going in the right direction.

Avengers: Endgame is out in UK cinemas on April 25, 2019.
