WhatsApp Dark Mode might be coming soon but here's a new feature you can use RIGHT NOW

The excitement around a Dark Mode coming to WhatsApp continues to grow with fans of the messaging service desperately waiting for news on the update.

There’s been plenty of rumours and speculation about this feature which would transform the way the app looks on iOS and Android devices.

Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, recently pushed out an update to its Messenger service which brings a Dark Mode to that platform.

And WhatsApp could be next with WABetaInfo recently revealing it had seen a preview of how this new option could look.

This site is renowned for finding features long before they are released into the wild and they say they’ve recently found a way to switch on dark mode when using an Android smartphone.

There’s even some images which back up the claims with the screenshots clearly showing a darker colour scheme within the app.

All signs suggest this big new feature may be arriving in the coming months but there is a nice WhatsApp extra that you can try right now.

The messaging service announced last week that it was making some radical changes to the way people interact with group chats.

WhatsApp says that users have asked for more control over their experience and are introducing a new privacy setting and invite system to help decide who can add them to groups.

To enable it, users should head to the Settings in their app, then tap Account > Privacy > Groups and select one of three options: “Nobody”, “My Contacts”, or “Everyone”. “Nobody” means you’ll have to approve joining every group to which you’re invited, and “My Contacts” means only users you have in your address book can add you to groups.

In those cases, the person adding you to a group will be prompted to send a private invite through an individual chat, giving you the choice of joining the group.

You’ll have three days to accept the invite before it expires.

WhatsApp hopes that these new features will let users have more control over the group messages they receive.

These new privacy settings will begin rolling out to some users starting today and will be available worldwide in the coming weeks to those using the latest version of WhatsApp.
