Game of Thrones season 8: Brienne of Tarth’s ‘FINAL MOMENT’ revealed?

Game of Thrones viewers are fully expecting everyone to perish in the upcoming HBO finale but now evidence has emerged suggesting one fan-favourite is about to perish.

Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth, is about to go into battle to protect both Winterfell and Westeros from the invasion of the Night King (played by Vladimir Furdik) and his army of the dead.

The actress recently teased how her character goes into every fight thinking it could be her last.

But will the upcoming Battle of Winterfell, which is reported to take place in episode three, actually see her demise?

Gwendoline told Radio Times: “Brienne experiences real fear for the first time. This might be her last moment on Earth.

“But then she’s always been about the greater good: ‘Better to die in good battle than bad death’, as the saying goes.”

Brienne has always been a fearful warrior throughout Game of Thrones but with her feeling fear for the first time, does this ensure she is set to die?

Furthermore, when asked what advice she has for fans about the upcoming season, the actress suggested the final season is going to be traumatic.

Gwendoline joked: “You’re going to need therapy.

“The show ending is going to send all of the world into [seeking] professional help!”

Does this mean fans will lose some of their favourite characters?

Emilia Clarke, who stars as Daenerys Targaryen, added how the whole ending becomes consumed with gaining control.

She said: “The overarching theme in the entire show, but especially in season eight, is power.

“It’s about what it does to people, what it actually is, who deserves it, what are the decisions that you have to make and when you have it, what are the sacrifices that you have to make?

“I find it fascinating in the real world, too, looking at politicians.

“The amount of times that I read newspapers or shout at the TV, and then I think, ‘I wonder… behind closed doors, I wonder what deals you had to cut to get where you are?”

Meanwhile, Gwendoline appeared on Good Morning America and spilled the beans on her reactions to shock deaths.

She explained: “I sat there, and I read them all the way through from the start to the end.

“And it was a real emotional roller coaster, because things happened that deeply startled me, upset me. I went bright red in the face.”

Game of Thrones season eight premieres on April 14 on HBO and Sky Atlantic and on NOW TV on April 15.
