Nick Tilsley (played by Ben Price) may be a suspect in the Underworld factory disaster but he is yet to spark concern among the residents of Coronation Street.
What’s more, his dirty secret – stealing thousands of pounds from his grandmother, Audrey Roberts – has remained exactly that, a secret.
But his world could come crashing down if he crosses the wrong person, an individual who has knowledge of his demons and would use it to their advantage.
The person in question is none other than Natalie Watkins (Cassie Bradley), who works for the businessman and his brother David Platt (Jack P Shepherd).
Actress Cassie has hinted at a fallout between Nick and Natalie, in which the latter goes blabbing his secrets to the world.
“Natalie holds all the cards, she has all the power, but she uses her humour and her charm too, to outwit him and that really unsettles him,” the TV star said of her character’s relationship with Nick.
When asked whether the former waitress would keep his secrets, she teased: “For the moment, I think she’s enjoying being the keeper of the secrets.
“I think that’s what making her tick at the moment, but with Natalie you never know, she could go in any direction depending on who pushes her buttons, who maybe looks at her in the wrong way and who lights that firework.”
Continuing, the Nottingham native exclaimed: “Everyone needs to watch out!”
Also, the soap star appeared to hint she could be the one pulling the strings and ordering Nick to do her dirty work.
“She’s more than a match and that’s what is worrying him,” Cassie quipped. “It’s such an exciting part to play.”
There is every possibility Natalie could use Nick’s secrets against him, potentially using it as leverage to get what she wants financially.
Another theory is she helped him plan the factory roof collapse to claim it as an insurance job, so he could then give her some of the money they got to keep her quiet.
Natalie was left fuming when she realised Nick benefited a lot more than she did stealing from Audrey and is looking to better her life.
“She’s looking for a way out of the monotonous life she was stuck in,” Cassie explained.
“She initially helped Nick to steal the money but when she realised he got a lot more out of the situation than she did, she thought I’m going to take myself to Coronation Street and see what I can get.”
She concluded: “She’s in a very powerful position, she has all of that information on Nick.
“While she’s not malicious she’s very clever at turning every situation to her own gain.”
Will Natalie throw Nick in the deep end and reveal he stole Audrey’s money?
