Avengers Endgame: Who will kill Thanos in Avengers 4? THESE are the top contenders

Avengers: Endgame beings in the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War. After Thanos’ snap, the universe is in ruins with half the population wiped out of existence. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe.

Who will kill Thanos in Avengers: Endgame?

Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel has been touted as the strongest Avenger yet.

Her particular superpowers make her perhaps the best equipped to defeat Thanos.

One power, which no one else wields, is the ability to absorb energy from an attack and turn it into her own strength.

She can also access a state called Binary which allows her to manipulate the power of a white hole (the opposite of a black hole) allowing her full control and manipulation of stellar energies, heat, the electromagnetic spectrum and gravity.

AVENGERS ENDGAME: NEW TRAILER FEATURES THANOS, SPARKS NEW FAN THEORY

Nebula

Though Nebula may not be able to do it on her own, a huge spoiler let slip by Karen Gillan hints she may confront Thanos herself.

In Avengers: Infinity War, Nebula came close to killing her adoptive father.

On her own, however, Nebula may not be strong enough to kill him.

But a fellow Avenger may give her the final blow, allowing her to exact her revenge on Thanos.

AVENGERS ENDGAME POSTERS: WHO SURVIVED THE SNAP REVEALED

Thor

Thor, like Nebula, nearly defeated Thanos during Infinity War.

In the trailer, Thor was revealed to be wielding the Stormbreaker weapon, since the Hammer of Thor was destroyed.

This weapon may give Thor the edge over Thanos he needs.

Not to mention the trailer saw Thanos sporting armour, meaning he may also be weakened.

AVENGERS ENDGAME RUNTIME: WILL ENDGAME BE THE LONGEST MARVEL MOVIE?

Iron Man

Though Iron Man may arguably have the most vitriol towards Thanos, the likelihood of him thwarting the mad Titan seems slim.

However, if Tony Stark is able to beef up his suit, perhaps with an Infinity Stone or some power from Captain Marvel, he could at least get a few punches in.

Doctor Strange

Many already believe Strange saw the sole path to victory during Infinity War, which was why he gave Thanos the time stone.

Though he may not be above Thanos in brute strength, Doctor Strange’s time travelling and prescience could give the Avengers the edge they need to defeat Thanos.

Gamora

Despite being dead, or so we think, in the MCU, the comics give Gamora a strong chance at killing her adoptive father.

In Infinity Wars Prime, a new comic series, a character named Requiem has a powerful new weapon with which they decapitate Thanos.

When, in a later scene, Requiem’s helmet is broken their face is revealed to be none other than Gamora herself.

Given the Russo brothers have already claimed Thanos’ weakness is his emotional attachment to Gamora, she may be the surprise character to take down Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame is out in cinemas on Thursday, April 25, 2019.
