Victoria season 3 spoilers: ‘There are conversations’ Jenna Coleman to be REPLACED?

Jenna, 32, has played Queen Victoria since ITV series Victoria began in 2016, portraying the monarch from the young age of 18 when she took the crown to currently depicting the regal figure as she enters her thirties.

During her time on the series, Jenna’s incarnation of Queen Victoria has seen the monarch marry her husband Prince Albert (played by Tom Hughes) as well as welcoming the couples seven of nine children.

With the third season currently airing on ITV, Jenna will appear on The Jonathan Ross Show later this evening where she discusses her role on the show with the host.

When asked by Jonathan Ross, 58, about her future on the show, with the lead role of Queen Elizabeth recently being recast for Netflix series The Crown, Jenna stated their had been talks about handing over the reigns of Queen Victoria to another actress.

Jenna told Jonathan: “There are conversations happening about jowls and how realistic we can go with jowls…I don’t know yet.

“There is lots of talk of who will be the older Victoria but I don’t know as to when that is going to happen, genuinely.”

Having portrayed the role of the historical royal figure over a time frame of over ten years, Jenna also revealed how the creative team make her look older.

“We are going slightly wider on the corsets obviously having given birth to seven children. And a lot less makeup, the Makeup [team] are really pleased if I get a grey hair.

“We are very subtly beginning it,” the actress teased about her character’s ageing process.

The former Emmerdale star also explained how to Jonathan how she puts herself in the mind frame of giving birth during the drama’s labour scenes.

During last week’s instalment of the historical drama, viewers were overcome with emotion when Lord Melbourne (Rufus Sewell) was mentioned in discussion, with the character having passed away during the second season.

Taking to Twitter to comment on the beloved character’s mention, one viewer posted: “Now I’m just a mess thinking how much I miss Lord M #victoria.”

Another wrote: “God don’t mention Lord M, it makes me too emotional #Victoria,” with a third opining: “Wasn’t prepared for that lord melbourne mention tbh #victoria.

Lord Melbourne was one of the Prime Minister’s serving office during Queen Victoria’s reign and his name cropped up when Prince Albert became concerned about political unrest.

The former PM became increasingly ill over the course of the second season and his death was signified offscreen.

Victoria continues Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
