Stacey Dooley: Strictly star stunned after BBC's David Dimbleby drops booty call bombshell

David asked Stacey for a “booty call” when the pair both appeared on the show. The former BBC Question Time presenter chaired the panel for the satirical show, which included Stacey who was on Ian Hislop’s team on the BBC programme. During an exchange with the Strictly winner, David was forced to ask her what a “booty call” was, following a joke about Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn’s 4am meeting. Stacey said: “That’s a booty call.”

“You think that’s a booty call?” Ian questioned.

“Stacey replied: “4am, yeah. That’s what they’re after.”

“I think you’ll have to explain to David what a booty call is,” Ian laughed.

David provoked applause from the audience with his plan to find out what the phrase actually meant.

He said: “No, I don’t know what a booty call is. You give me one and then I’ll know what it is.”

Stacey insisted that “David knows” and referenced a “little black book”.

Stacey was also questioned by the BBC veteran on her views of a second referendum for Brexit.

David asked her: “Stacey, what do you think about a People’s Vote?”

“When you won Strictly the judges thought you were rubbish and put you at the bottom but the public voted you top,” he joked.

Stacey added: “I was bottom of the board! Thank God for the people.”

Stacey joked: “Obviously the outcome of Strictly is more important than what we’re discussing here.”

Speaking seriously about the topic, Stacey continued: “I’m torn. I think we lost and I think it’s a difficult pill to swallow but I think it’s a slippery slope when you say ‘we need to go again because we didn’t get the result we wanted’.

“But I understand there is new information now. I’ve given up to be honest, having an opinion.”

During the show, the two panels also discussed who could become Prime Minister when Mrs May goes.

Ian said: “I think It’s going to be Jeremy Corbyn.”

However, Stacey said: “If it’s Jacob [Rees-Mogg], I’m gonna leave and come and live with you in Germany,” while pointing at comedian Henning Wehn.

Have I Got News For You continues next Friday on BBC One at 9pm.
