The One Show: ‘Oh filthy!’ Matt Baker scolds Alex Jones after cheeky comment

The One Show this evening saw Matt Baker and Alex Jones present the programme together yet again, and the pair engaged in a little friendly banter at the very beginning.

It was a Game of Thrones-themed evening, and they were joined by comedian Sue Perkins, who was sitting on her very own Iron Throne.

Matt then asked the viewers to tweet to the show with pictures of their favourite chairs at home, and this was when his co-host, Alex, left Matt and Sue slightly flustered with her choice of language.

“Please do send us in pictures of the chair and that very person right now may be just sitting watching The One Show,” began Matt.

Alex then interjected: “It’ll usually be like a dirty recliner, won’t it?”

“Oh, filthy,” Sue replied, while sitting on her Game of Thrones-inspired Iron Throne.

Matt then stepped in to warn his co-host to move on, as he ordered: “Come on, now!”

He continued: “Don’t put the viewers down right at the beginning of the show.”

Sue then joked: “Imagine being accused of being on a filthy recliner.”

Alex added: “They might be on a very clean one,” to which Sue replied: “They might be at home sitting on something like this,” while pointing at her Iron Throne.

In an attempt to move the conversation on, Alex said: “Well, they could be. Hey, we’ll see what comes in.”

Matt then shouted: “Prove her wrong! Come on teams!”

The pair then started to laugh, and Sue commented: “That’s a hornet’s nest right there you’ve stirred.”

This came after Alex asked guests, Ian Hislop and Paul Merton, if they’d do Strictly Come Dancing, but Ian revealed he’d had enough of being “humiliated by judges”.

After being asked, Paul declared: “Unlike other sort of talent shows of its kind, people have already sort of achieved stuff when they’re on it.

“They are not 16 years old, this isn’t going to be their lifetime ambition destroyed in front of millions.”

Alex probed: “So would you or wouldn’t you both? Come on!”

Ian replied: “I keep being asked and I will say the same thing, I’ve had a lifetime of being humiliated by judges, no more for me.”

Alex then added: “Paul, you’d be good at ballroom because you’ve got the height.

“Ian, I think Latin could be your thing.”

“Well, I’ve always been good at Latin,” Ian joked, as the hosts laughed at his response.

The One Show continues tomorrow at 7pm on BBC One.
