Strictly Come Dancing 2019: TV star reveals why they're REFUSING to do BBC show

Gaby Roslin, 54, who currently presents her own radio show on BBC Radio 4, has revealed why she will “never ever” take part in the dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing. The DJ spoke exclusively with Express.co.uk, where she admitted she would be too “self conscious” to take part in the series despite the fact she is an avid watcher. The presenter commented: “I love it [Strictly] but absolutely never, never, never, ever. They know I won’t. “I’m too self-conscious. I love watching it but there is no way.

“But I would actually poo my pants before I went on air and I don’t think that would be a good look for anybody on my television.”

The mother-of-two revealed she has been upfront in the past about being self-conscious and said she is a very “shy” person.

Gaby divulged: “There’s no way I’d wear skintight body lycra and dance.

“Anyone that knows me knows I’m self conscious. I’ve spoken about it openly. I’m shy. I’m a very shy person. So, no absolutely no way. On every single level it makes me my most shyest.”

She continued: “When I go to a party and I don’t know anyone I get shy. A lot of people in the public eye suffer with shyness.

“What you see is what you get. So on Strictly what you would see is me poo my pants.”

Despite not wanting to appear on the dancing competition, Gaby took to the theatre stage in 2005 for the national tour of When Harry Met Sally and later that year sang in Chicago.

However, the former Big Breakfast host said presenting is her “first love” and what she has always wanted to do.

Gaby spilled: “I loved being in Chicago, I loved being in Harry Met Sally and it was a fantastic experience.

“I think I just needed to rekindle that flame that was obviously still burning. But I always wanted to be a TV presenter, so that’s my first love.

“I wanted to be a presenter at three. I still love it, if not more today.”

Meanwhile, the TV star recently gushed over her former Big Breakfast co-star Chris Evans and spoke about whether fans will ever get to see a reunion.

The presenter spilled: “I was on Chris’ last show on BBC Radio 2 before he went to Virgin and we were talking about that.

“We were saying we can’t believe people still ask us [about The Big Breakfast].

“It was over 26 years ago that we started it. It’s lovely that people seem to hold us with fondness in their hearts and Chris and I still love each other very, very much. I have so much love and respect for him.”

But she was adamant the classic 90s hit morning show will not be making a comeback.

“We are not going to go back and do that because that would be a bit old,” Gaby said.

“The house is not even there. Somebody lives in it, I think. I’ve heard that.”
