Lucy Mecklenburgh: Fitness mogul reveals the one thing you should do to lose weight

Whether it’s a couple of pounds or a major lifestyle overhaul, weight loss is something many people hope to achieve.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Lucy Mecklenburgh explained the best way to kick start the weight loss journey.

After transforming her own lifestyle, she revealed the most important thing to keep diets on track is to change one thing at a time, and spoke about what those changes were for her.

From improving slimmers overall health to improving confidence, slimmers have many reasons for starting their weight loss journey, but following these tips can help them keep on track.

Adding one healthy habit in at a time will help slimmers start to lose weight, and also keep them motivated.

Lucy revealed: “Change one thing at a time, don’t overwhelm yourself.

“For me, it wasn’t a massive weight loss journey but I did lose a bit of weight and toned up and felt fitter and healthier as a result.”

With the help of personal trainer, Cecilia Harris, Lucy gradually began to change her diet and noticed her body and mind change as a result.

“Those little changes make a massive difference. Every week, add a little change,” Lucy explained.

“Swap milky sugary tea to a herbal tea, go walking, do fitness every week.

“Add little changes into your life that make a massive difference in the long run. It doesn’t overwhelm you if you’re a beginner.”

Speaking of her own transformation, Lucy explained what she changed about her lifestyle.

Lucy told Express.co.uk: “Cecilia told me to eat breakfast, so that was a huge part for me. That little change made such a difference to my life.

“I had an omelette every morning and that automatically stopped my tea and biscuits at 11 o’clock.”

When it comes to what foods to eat, she explained that diet isn’t a one size fit all thing, but there are some good base rules to follow.

Lucy said: “We all know how to eat well, we just decide to eat other things. For me, eating loads of colour, enough protein to fill me up and no extra sugar.

“I think people are different. Our bodies are all different and we all enjoy different things.

“I eat three times a day or sometimes two times a day. As long as you’re eating a healthy balanced diet, eating vegetables and protein.

“I have to have breakfast. I don’t like to eat too late at night, it doesn’t work for me. I also can’t eat really early in the morning.

“There is no rule. There is no one fix all.”

When changing their dieters, making small changes and incorporating healthier foods and exercise into the diet will help dieters trim down.
