Grand National 2019: Guests risk wardrobe malfunctions as they battle strong wind at races

Today is the start of the Grand National 2019 and guests have already been making their way to the event to kick off celebrations. The Grand National main event will take place on Saturday, but a number of stylish guests are already celebrating ahead of the weekend races. The races will take place on Saturday, but some people are much more interested in what the guests are wearing and many have put on their glad rags to go to Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. Not put off by the cold and damp weather, some guests even appear to have left their coats at home.

Some guest have prioritised looking stylish over being warm today as many have chosen to wear sleeveless dresses.

One woman was dressed to the nines a bold red dress and strappy heels.

The sleeveless dress nipped in at the waist and featured a slit up the front, leaving both her legs and arms exposed to the freezing conditions.

Another woman opted for a similar look and bared her arms in a fit-and-flare floral dress and pink headpiece.

Other guests chose to wear a more conservative outfit as they headed to the racecourse.

Wearing a black pleated midi-skirt, one woman paired this with a long camel coat that cut off just above the ankle.

Another guest covered up a knee-length red wrap dress with a thick cream cardigan.

Despite wearing layers, this was not enough to help her battle the weather and she looked windswept in the intense weather conditions.

Another fashionable attendee turned up for the event dressed for spring in a light blue body con dress.

With lace sleeves, she appeared to have left her jacket at home.

One attendee did not seem to mind the weather conditions, as she was seen laughing in a revealing black dress which featured a plunging neckline.

The dress featured a short bodycon dress covered in a longer lace layer that featured a split and cut off just above the knee.

One woman who had turned up for the event was spotted pulling down her nude dress in order to avoid a wardrobe malfunction.

She wore a nude mini dress which had a gold leaf pattern which had strappy sleeves and a gold leaf design across it.

A number of guests held onto their dresses and headpieces in order to stop their garments from blowing out of control.

Last month, fans of the races braved poor weather conditions again as they attended Cheltenham 2019.

The event, which took place in March, was attended by some famous faces including Carol Vorderman, who turned up for the races in a figure hugging green dress.
