‘Inside Edition’ host Deborah Norville shares surgery update: ‘Everything went great’

“Inside Edition” host Deborah Norville shared a smiling post-surgery photo after undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous thyroid nodule.

The show’s website posted a photo of Norville in a hospital gown, appearing to be in good spirits after the procedure Tuesday.

The 60-year-old TV personality also shared an update to her Instagram, showing her holding hands with a loved one. “Out of surgery,” she wrote. “Everything went great. Here with my best friend.”

Norville announced that she would be taking a break from “Inside Edition” during a message on Monday’s episode, sharing that a viewer noticed a lump in her neck and encouraged her to get it checked out.

“When you work on television, viewers comment on everything. Your hair, your makeup, the dress you’re wearing,” she said. “And a long time ago an ‘Inside Edition’ viewer reached out to say she’d seen something on my neck. It was a lump. Well, I’d never noticed the thing, but I did have it checked out and the doctor said it was nothing, a thyroid nodule…until recently, it was something,” she said.

Norville explained that the doctor diagnosed her with a “very localized form of cancer, which tomorrow, I’ll have surgery to have removed.”

The TV world flooded Norville with well wishes, with hosts from shows including “Today” and “Good Morning America” taking time during their broadcasts to cheer her on.
