Debbie McGee: 'You're going to be in trouble' Strictly favourite issues warning to co-star

The Strictly Come Dancing 2017 finalist was joined by newsreader Andy Jones on her BBC Radio Berkshire show on Sunday Morning. At one point, he read out the sport headlines, promising the action from next weekend’s fixture between Reading F.C. and Hull City would be covered on the channel. “Your very own Jack Winstanley [will be] taking care of things on that as well as Ady Williams and, of course, the legendary Tim Dellor,” he promised listeners. However, when he came to the end of his report, Debbie McGee chipped in: “I have a couple of comments about that reading of the sport.

“Oh dear, what have I done wrong, Debbie?” Andy replied nervously, joking: “In the business, we call this a snoop session, when your manager takes you to one side and says, ‘I’ve had a listen, I’ve got some criticisms…’”

“It’s normally in a private office with no one listening,” Debbie added.

“We’re going to do it on air, let’s have it out!” he laughed.

“I’ve got a feeling that Ady might be upset,” the presenter warned, pointing out how Andy had referred to Tim as “legendary” but not Ady.

“You said, ‘…with Ady Williams and the legendary Tim Dellor’. I think you’re going to be in trouble,” she chided.

“I got a few evils from Jack Winstanley who’s on the sport team who makes the whole show come together on a Saturday,” Andy conceded, laughing.

“How about we describe ‘housewives’ favourite’ Tim Dellor and the ‘legendary’ Ady Williams?” he suggested, adding that Jack would be referred to as “everybody’s favourite”.

Debbie first shot to fame as assistant to magician Paul Daniels, later marrying the entertainer.

She and Paul tied the knot 10 years after they first met when she started performing in his shows.

The couple married in 1988, with Debbie marking what would have been their 31st wedding anniversary yesterday.

The Strictly favourite took to Twitter to pay tribute to her late husband, sharing a picture from the big day.

“31 years ago today I married this very special man,” she wrote.

The picture showed Debbie and Paul beaming for the camera from behind a bouquet of flowers, which co-ordinated with a floral band woven into the blonde beauty’s hair.

Her former Strictly Come Dancing partner Giovanni Pernice, 28, showed his support on the poignant day by liking the post.

She was soon inundated with loving messages, with Gethin Jones, 41, commenting with a string of kisses.

Strictly dancer Katya Jones, 29, simply replied with a heart emoji, while the official Mrs Brown’s Boys account said: “Happy anniversary he was a legend.”

Paul died three years ago, just weeks after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
