Avengers Endgame plot is ‘f***ing INCREDIBLE’ teases Doctor Strange 2 director

Only a few hundred people around the world know the plot of Avengers Endgame. And one of those people is Doctor Strange 2 director Derrickson. The filmmaker behind Benedict Cumberbatch’s two MCU solo movies has revealed that Infinity War and Endgame director Joe Russo once pitched in the story of both epic. Writing on Twitter, Derrickson said: “While editing Doctor Strange at Marvel, I ran into Joe Russo outside the men’s room.”

He added: “He pitched me the basic story for both Infinity War and Endgame.

“I told him that if he could make the first movie work, the second movie would be f***ing incredible.”

Well, Marvel fans now know how good Avengers Infinity War was, so that’s some high praise for Avengers Endgame.

Meanwhile, Derrickson is set to shoot Doctor Strange 2 next year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter: “Scott Derrickson, who directed and co-wrote the mystical Marvel hero’s initial 2016 outing, has quietly finalised a deal to helm the new instalment.

A search for a writer to pen the script is about to get underway. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the plan is for the script to be hashed out in 2019 with an eye toward a spring 2020 production start.

“If all goes well, the movie would be casting its spell on audiences in May 2021.

“Benedict Cumberbatch will return as Stephen Strange, the good doctor turned master of the mystic arts, as will Benedict Wong, who played his right-hand man, Wong. Rachel McAdams, who played Stephen Strange’s love interest, is likely to return as well.”

AVENGERS ENDGAME TICKETS RESELLING FOR HUNDREDS

Of course, fans will know Doctor Strange died in Avengers Infinity War, so it’s assumed Avengers Endgame will reverse Thanos’ Snap.

After all, Spider-Man Far From Home is out this July and Peter Parker is also currently dead.

No doubt, Doctor Strange 2 and the rest of Marvel Phase 4 will be announced at Comic-Con this summer.

Avengers Endgame will be released in UK cinemas on April 25, 2019.
