ISIS ‘matchmaker’ who groomed jihadi brides begs to return to UK ‘I committed no harm’

Tooba Gondal, 25, became infamous for luring young British women into the clutches of Jihadi fighters in Syria and grooming young refugee women in Syrian refugee camps.

Gondal was initially married to Is recruiter Abu Abbas al-Lubani, who offered cash to teenage girls via a UK based recruitment cell.

Shamima Begum was said to be one of the recruits who fell for the former Goldsmiths University students’ ideologies.

Gondal, the daughter of a successful businessman, fled London at 22 to join ISIS.

After leaving for Syria, she launched a sick online campaign to tempt others to follow in her footsteps.

The Rojava Information Centre reported she was discovered living in the Ayn Issa refugee camp with her two children after an attempted escape from ISIE-held Baghouz village to the Turkish border.

But Gondal, also known as Umm Muthanna Al Britaniyah, is now asking to come home to the UK.

She reportedly said: “We can’t stay in this camp for the rest of our lives, they must deal with us. We are not threat to their society we just want a normal life again.

“The women and the children of ISIS became the victims.

“I did not harm anyone, if I committed no harm in Syria for four years, what kind of threat can I be to Britain?”

Gondal said her possessions had been confiscated by Syrian Democratic Forces – but still had possession of her British passport after sewing it into her child’s nappy.

She then expressed her fears for the safety of her two young children in the overcrowded camp.

She said: “They took our money, they took our gold, all our electronics, we have to start life from zero.

“They will grow up to not have any manners and not have any education. The women will maybe lose their sanity.

“More sicknesses, more diseases, cases of death.”

Her demands come after jihadi bride Shamima Begum was refused entry back to the UK in late February by Home Secretary Sajid Javid, after Begum initially said she wished to return to the UK to look after her third newborn baby.

Days after she had her citizenship revoked, her third newborn baby died of malnourishment.

Her husband, Dutch ISIS fighter Yago Riedijk, 27, spoke of his heartbreak at the death of his third child from behind bars in a Syrian jail.

The fighter, originally a welder from Arnheim, Netherlands told the Times: “If only we had that one child, Shamima would be able to hold him and cling on to that.

“But now she’s just alone, heartbroken, having lost three children.”
