Nipsey Hussle is the professional name of rapper Ermias Davidson Asghedom. He was shot outside his shop Marathon Clothing in South Los Angeles this morning, police have confirmed. The rapper was a cornerstone to the LA community, and his album Victory Lap received a nomination at this year’s Grammys.
How did Nipsey Hussle die?
According to Los Angeles Police, Asghedom was shot outside of his clothing store in the evening of Sunday March 30.
Police confirm he was shot a number of times and was one of three people injured in the shooting.
They are yet to confirm any suspects in the murder.
Los Angeles Police released an official report via Twitter, saying: “At approximately 3:20 pm there was a shooting reported in the area of Slauson Ave and Crenshaw Blvd.
“Three victims were transported to a local hospital where one was pronounced deceased.
“We have no suspect info at this time and will provide more details as they become available.”

Huge stars have taken to Twitter to extend their well-wishes to his family and express their shock of his death.
Rihanna said: “This doesn’t make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this!
“Dear God may His spirit Rest In Peace and May You grant divine comfort to all his loved ones!
“I’m so sorry this happened to you.”
Los Angeles County Board member Mark Ridley-Thomas revealed how important he was to the local community.
He said: ”Ermias Asghedom, known to us as the hip-hop artist Nipsey Hussle, was a father, businessman, entertainer, and inspiration to many.
“Our communities have lost too many young men and bright futures to the scourge of gun violence.
“For healing to occur, even from this terrible incident, justice must be sought through legal means, and community peace must be found.”
