Jasmine Harman: ‘I've come under fire' A Place In The Sun presenter HITS OUT

A Place In The Sun presenter Jasmine Harman, 43, took to Instagram to share a make-up free selfie to encourage others to embrace their flaws. While promoting the positive message, she spoke of negative comments she had received from social media users, including one which referred to her bottom as the “back end of a bus”. In view of her 20,000 as part of a lengthy statement, she began: “As some of you may know, I like to write about something important or close to my heart with every 100th post. This time I’d like to talk about being nice it’s all too easy on social media to make hurtful remarks or offensive comments about people without really considering the real-life person with feelings on the receiving end.”

The property expert went on to say while most of her followers are lovely, she has had to block a few, adding “no-one is immune to trolls”.

The mother-of-two then spoke out about other negative comments she had received.

She said: “I’ve come under fire for being too fat, too thin, too aloof, having an annoying voice, my vegan lifestyle, even my grammar to name but a few.

“Last week someone commented that I looked ‘anorexic’ (Seriously? Just inconsiderate of anyone suffering with this horrible illness).

“Previously someone compared my posterior to the ‘back end of a bus’”.

Jasmine added she was “robust enough” to ignore the negative comments, adding: “I’ve always been realistic about my shape, my fitness level, and I feel it is possible to be gorgeous whatever your age/size/ethnicity etc!”

Jasmine then shared her thoughts on using filters on social media, adding: “It does give us a slightly warped view of others and unrealistic expectations of how we should look.”

She then went on to embrace her self confidence but joked she wasn’t brave enough to embrace her grey hair.

The presenter finished her post by challenging her followers to share a make-up free picture of themselves.

Many of her social media fans flocked to her page to comment.

One user wrote: “You’re beautiful Jas (inside and out) and have always been my idol… I always wanted to be just like you and you may be a few years older but I still wish I could be more like you.”

A second commented: “You’re an iconic queen, don’t listen to the hate.”

A third penned: “Well said, too many people say hurtful things purely based on someone’s appearance. I’m not sure why they feel the need.”

Elsewhere, Jasmine recently celebrated her 15th year on the show and revealed if she had ever thought about leaving.

She exclusively told Express.co.uk: “I’ve never considered leaving the show to work on other things.

“I think I’m in it for the long haul now to be honest.

“A Place In The Sun have been incredibly helpful with my sort of changes in my life with having children and things like that and being able to accommodate me.”
