How Brendan Rodgers could HELP Liverpool win Premier League this season – Tim Sherwood

That is according to former Tottenham midfielder and head coach Tim Sherwood.

Rodgers came close to leading Liverpool to their first ever Premier League triumph back in 2014.

However, the Reds ended up falling short, finishing two points behind champions Manchester City.

The infamous slip from Steven Gerrard in the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea will painfully live long in the memory of all Liverpool supporters.

But Sherwood believes Rodgers can end up helping his old team to the title this season.

Rodgers is now the manager of Leicester and the Foxes visit the Etihad to play Liverpool’s title rivals Manchester City in early May.

“Yeah I do [think Liverpool need to win every game to win the league],” Sherwood told Premier League Productions.

“For the sole reason I think Man City are so good, so powerful.

“I look at a fixture there – Leicester, Man City. Brendan Rodgers. That could be the story.

“Brendan could possibly go and do Liverpool a favour.

“He came so close himself with the well-publicised slip with Stevie [Gerrard].

“Maybe he could do his old team a favour possibly.

“I’m not holding my breath with that one to be honest.”

Liverpool’s victory over Tottenham on Sunday sent them back to the top of the Premier League with six games remaining.

A late own goal from Toby Alderweireld handed the Reds a vital win.

City are two points behind in second but have a game in hand on Tuesday against Cardiff.
