Alex Jones: 'A horrible feeling’ The One Show host presented an HOUR after miscarriage

The One Show host Alex Jones, 42, is currently pregnant with her second child with husband Charlie Thomson. But back in 2017, the married couple suffered a devastating miscarriage. She said: “We learnt the baby didn’t have a heartbeat. I was around 14 weeks, which is a decent amount of time. The baby had stopped developing at about nine weeks. That was really hard. It hit us like a ton of bricks.”

The presenter said the show’s bosses had encouraged her to take time of work, but she insisted she would continue with her duties.

She added to Stella magazine: “What else am I going to do?

“It’s a horrible feeling because it is so empty. There’s nothing to say. It’s done.”

Six months later, Alex fell pregnant with her second child.

The host already has two-year-old Teddy with husband Charlie.

Just last month, Alex expressed her concerns for her unborn baby after feeling little movement.

She shared a picture of herself from a hospital bed, which showed a monitor on her bump.

In view of her 143,000 followers, she wrote: “Hadn’t felt much movement from the baby from a few days so lying here being monitored.”

But Alex reassured her fans everything is okay, as she added: “If in doubt mammas, always check! So reassuring to hear the heartbeat.”

The presenter went on to urge fans to get checked if they had any doubts.

She added: “If in doubt mammas, always check! So reassuring to hear the heartbeat.”

Alex followed up her post thanking fans for their support.

She commented: “All was fine at the hospital.

”His or hers little heart beat was going like the clappers but good to check.”

“Thanks for the messages,” Alex added, alongside a kiss face emoji.

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
