The Rolling Stones were due to kick off a 17-concert tour of the US and Canada next month. However, Jagger announced to fans today that the shows, which are part of their No Filter tour, will be postponed due an unspecified illness. The 75-year-old writing on Twitter and Instagram said: “I’m so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets. I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone.”
The band’s publicist told Rolling Stone magazine that Jagger was “expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.”
While a statement from The Rolling Stones social media pages said: “Unfortunately today the Rolling Stones have had to announce the postponement of their upcoming U.S./Canada tour dates.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this causes those who have tickets to shows but wish to reassure fans to hold onto these existing tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates, which will be announced shortly.”
“Mick has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time, as he needs medical treatment.”

The statement added: “The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.”
The No Filter tour began in Germany last September, before travelling throughout Europe in two legs across 2017 and 2018.
The North American leg was due to begin in Miami on April 20 and finish in Canada on June 29.
