Phil Neville SLAMS ‘very average’ Man Utd and sends demand to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United beat Watford 2-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

The win moves the Red Devils above Arsenal into fourth in the Premier League table, with the Gunners hosting Newcastle on Monday.

It was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first match in charge since being appointed permanent manager on Thursday.

And Watford could easily have scored more than the late goal Abdoulaye Doucoure netted.

Neville says the Hornets deserved their goal against a below-par Manchester United.

But he has set the Red Devils the challenge of creating another winning run, continuing on Tuesday against Wolves.

“I thought they were very average,” Neville told Premier League Productions.

“I thought Watford were fantastic.

“United looked like they needed that game after the international break.

“And do you know what, in the second half they were hanging on again for the first 20-25 minutes.

“They just had two bits of real quality that in the end won them the game.”

“It was a really good game because Watford actually went for it.

“They caused problems, the game was open, there was a lot of space in midfield.

“And actually the goal that Watford scored was just rewards.

“I think his [Solskjaer’s] team did look a little bit rusty.

“But they have got big games coming up, big game against Wolves on Tuesday.

“They need to keep winning.”
